• On the North Shore you will be able to find many places to eat catering to all budgets. There are supermarkets within a 5 minute drive of all the host clubs as well as many takeout and eat in options. The Yoon Brothers, our club caterer, will also have food available to purchase for the duration of the tournament.

• For those of you who enjoy a good cup of coffee, or hot chocolate, there will a coffee cart on site at the North Shore Squash Club during the Championships. For those days you are visiting at Browns Bay and Devonport, you won't have to venture to far away from them to get a cup of coffee in the morning either. 

• North Shore Squash Club is across the road from the North Shore Hospital in the case of extreme emergency.

• In the event that you require first aid, Shore Care is within 2 minutes drive or a 5 minute walk.

• Should you require urgent dental work, The Tooth company is also easily available.

• We do have a Physiotherapist on site, and they can be visited in the offices just under the Bar area, or here

Auckland transport have comprehensive bus routes on the North Shore.

If you want to hop on and off a bus, we suggest that you load the AT app on your phone. If you don't have a AT hop card you will either need to carry cash or purchase and load one at the Smales Farm bus stop. This can be found just behind Westlake girls High.

The nearest bus stop is just inside the grounds of the North Shore Hospital.

If you looking for a less adventurous time, you will find movie theatres in Wairau park (Hoyts) and Event Cinemas at the Albany Mall.

There are a number of really nice walks along the coast, just check in on the tides ( best done at low tide) and the weather

You could do a Harbour bridge climb, or even a bungy jump.

• We encourage you to take a look at the Squash NZ  Policy document with regards to photography and publishing to social media.

• We encourage you to enjoy and capture the moments of your teams play, however you will need to act within the guidelines offered in this document. Note, that under no circumstances may still or video images be captured in the changing rooms or toilets at any of the clubs.

• At the NZSSS 2023 we will be live streaming games with the help of Maori TV on courts 6 and 7. This streaming is part of the sponsorship we have received through the Sport Collective and Secondary Schools Sport. When playing on these courts, the only advertising that you may have on your playing gear may be that of your school. If you do have any other sponsor messaging on your school playing gear it will need to be cleared by tournament control first. ​

• No alcohol will be served to, or consumed by, any player at anytime at any of the clubs or on their properties where this tournament is being supported. 

• In accordance with our bar license, no one under 18 will be served alcohol. No alcohol will be served to anyone who appears to be intoxicated. 

• Eye protection is compulsory. All players will need to wear protective glasses for every game

• Non marking soles on your playing shoes please

• School sport uniforms are at the discretion of the school. These will still need to appropriate to squash playing requirements. 

• There will be service offered from our Proshop during this tournament. If you require restringing during the tournament, bookings can be made at tournament control, the Proshop or online here

• Don't forget to bring a sweat towel for between games and for taking a shower afterwards

• Each player will be required to mark games. These may be either before or after they play. The schedule for marking games will be made available to teams at the same time as the draw and playing order for each team is. It is understandable that some players will have more experience than others than doing this and it is the responsibility of the marking team to make sure that their less experienced markers are supported

• It is the responsibility of the team captain and manager to ensure that players mark the games allocated to their team.

• If teams run into logistical issues getting to a game on time, you should contact tournament control so that alternative arrangements can be made while you make your way to the courts.

These are our expectations

• All match officials will be treated with respect by both players, coaches and spectators.

• All players will treat each other with respect.

• We encourage you to cheer for your team, but no heckling of players will be tolerated.

• The rules of the game can be found here, you are responsible for reading them and ensuring that your team understand them. There are very experienced officials at this tournament who will be able to help you settle any misunderstandings.

• The Squash NZ code of conduct can be found here. You are all responsible for reading this and ensuring that your team members and spectators conduct themselves in accordance.

• We are looking to award a supreme "good sportsmanship" award at this tournament. If you see someone being awesome, come and let us know at tournament control.
